Blaenwern
Nicely together and warm tones although sharp Horns & Soprano Cornet upset the generic sound.
Effective moving lines in Euphonium.
Well balanced in verse 2 and you shape the phrases well.
Sonorous Basses and stylish Bass Trombone.
Majestic final verse although tuning continues to be an issue - especially in the heavier dynamics.
Again - impressive Basses.
Well controlled close.
The Wizard
Confident and declamatory although semi-quavers untidy in bar 2.
Stylish Soprano and Solo Cornets.
Tidy and well balanced accompaniment lines (Cornets 2/3).
Nimble Euphonium and Trombones are full of panache.
Some untidy ends in phrases detract from generally smooth progressions, otherwise plenty of detail is found and the tempo is sensible and consistent.
Good tuning in 8va's between Euphonium and Cornets.
Some transient loose ensemble in Basses on running semi-quavers.
Musical and convincing close.
A stylish and well directed Band - tuning detracts from the hymn tune and just a little loose ensemble has prevented what would have been an absolutely authoritative march.
Despite this, a very enjoyable performance.
Thank you.
